Amanda Seyfried paid tribute to her LETTERS TO JULIET co-star Vanessa Redgrave at the movie's premiere on Tuesday (11May10), after the veteran actress pulled out to mourn her daughter and sister.
The British actress' turn in the drama marked the first role she took on following the tragic death of her daughter Natasha Richardson last year (09).
But just as she was about to embark on promotional duties for the film, Redgrave was rocked by the passing of her sister, Lynn, whose funeral took place at the weekend (08May10).
The 73 year old's grief was compounded on Monday (10May10) when she attended a memorial service in New York to mark what would have been Natasha's birthday on Tuesday - and she decided against attending the Letters To Juliet red carpet event in Los Angeles.
But her co-stars, Seyfried and Chris Egan, had nothing but kind words for her.
The Mamma Mia! star tells ETOnline.com, "She's kind of the most incredible human being I've ever known. She's talented, she's a mother and a humanitarian. She's it. She's an idol."
Egan adds, "We saw her for a night in Verona before she left to go to New York so it was really good to see her again and hang out."
