Amanda Seyfried looks set to star in her biggest, and most controversial role yet, having signed on to play adult film star Linda Lovelace in a forthcoming biopic. Competition for the role is said to have been rife since Kate Hudson turned down the part after falling pregnant, but Amanda looks to have won the battle, according to The Wrap.
The actress is perhaps as much known for her relationship with British heartthrob Dominic Cooper as for her movie roles, but the 22-year-old starred in the blockbuster Mamma Mia! and more recently in fantasy flick Red Riding Hood. It seems Seyfried has fended off competition from more high profile actresses to land the role, most notably Olivia Wilde, who spoke of her interest in the part to MTV News, saying, "I don't know yet, but it would be interesting.Right now I'm being really careful and enjoying that the work I have done has actually come out.As an actor sometimes you do work that is never seen so it's really an honour to bring these movies to the screen and to show millions of people". Another part yet to be cast is Linda's abusive pornographer husband Chuck Traynor, with James Franco previously rumoured to be interested. However, it now seems as though 'Flightplan' star Peter Sarsgaard will take up the role.
The movie, titled 'Lovelace' is set to begin production in January 2012. Seyfried recently completed shooting comedy 'The Big Wedding', with Robin Williams and ROBERT DE NIRO.
