Amanda Seyfried is reportedly is discussions to take on the role of porn legend Linda Lovelace in a new biopic.

The blonde beauty is thought to have beaten off competition from Kate Hudson to be lined up to star alongside Peter Sarsgaard in 'Lovelace', which will see the American actor play her pornographer husband Chuck Traynor, a role that James Franco has previously been linked to.

According to Variety, the movie is set to be directed by Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein, with W. Merritt Johnson in line to write The Script from Eric Danville's book 'The Complete Linda Lovelace'.

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was rumoured to be in negotiations to star as Linda, who tied the knot to Chuck while starring in porn motion picture 'Deep Throat'. The pair have since divorced and quit the adult film industry.

The production for 'Lovelace' is set to begin in January.
