The 43-year-old actress' body was found at her home in Greeley, Colorado, on 5 July (15), and now the cause of death has been revealed.

The coroner's report suggests Peterson, who played Cindy Mancini in the 1987 romantic comedy, had a variety of prescription drugs in her system, including anti-anxiety medication benzodizepines, opiates and phenothiazines, an anti-psychotic, as well as marijuana.

The coroner also found six times the normal level of painkiller Gabapentin, suggesting she was naively self-medicating, according to TMZ.com.
