Peterson, the teenage star of 'Can't Buy Me Love' back in 1987, was found dead in July this year.
Former teen actress Amanda Peterson, who passed away in July this year aged 43, died from an accidental overdose of drugs.
TMZ obtained a copy of a report from the Weld County Coroner in Colorado, which states that Peterson had a number of prescription drugs, many of which contained morphine, in her system at the time of death. It also states that the cause of death was respiratory failure, brought on by the effects of the amount of morphine.

Former actress Amanda Peterson has died at the age of 43.
Amanda Peterson, the actress best known for her starring role in the 1987 comedy Can’t Buy Me Love, has died. She was 43-years-old and her cause of death has yet to be confirmed. Peterson’s father confirmed the sad news to TMZ on Monday (6th July).

It's quite a juicy setup: Thanks to the power of dreams, young Ben (Hawke) and Wolfgang (Phoenix -- yes, a hippy kid is playing a German) invent the impossible: A sphere of energy that can travel at extreme speeds through space when connected to an Apple IIc and a 9-volt battery. (That's nothing compared to what they invent later: a machine that spontaneously generates oxygen!)
