The two friends were shooting the chat for De Cadenet's The Conversation talk show when the topic turned to parenting - and the British socialite became emotional as she thanked the star for helping her cope with motherhood.
De Cadenet said, "I very much trust your instinct and guidance as a mother. I was thinking about the things that I've learned from you and one of the things is really about family.
"I didn't grow up with that; I didn't have a relationship with my father and, like, learning to be a mother to a son and a daughter when there isn't really an example, and how I watched you with your kids... I really learned so much from you."

Talking about the end of her four-year 1990s marriage to Taylor during a candid chat about divorce with actress Olivia Wilde on her The Conversation show, De Cadenet admitted she was relieved when she realised she'd no longer have to pretend to like Duran Duran's music.
Wilde revealed one of the most liberating things to come from her split from husband Tao Ruspoli was realising she no longer had to listen to music he liked that she didn't, prompting show host De Cadenet to state, "I remember that feeling when I first got divorced. I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I never have to listen to this certain band again' - in my case."
De Cadenet and Taylor divorced in 1997 and she admits she went through a wretched period of drug and alcohol abuse and addiction to sex and shopping as she tried to cope with life after marriage.

Demi Moore made her public return on Tuesday (April 17, 2012), stepping out to support her friend Amanda De Cadenet at the launch of her new show 'The Conversation', which Demi executive produces. It's the first time Moore has made a red-carpet appearance since completing her stint in rehabilitation and reaction was mixed.
The UK's Daily Mirror claimed the actress still looks "worryingly skinny", adding, "Even standing near Official Skinny Type Rachel Zoe couldn't disguise her tiny frame". Though the Hollywood star appeared somewhat nervous in front of the cameras, her waistline doesn't appear to have shrunk dramatically, though the Mirror were unconvinced, adding, "Despite also being out with Rachel Zoe - the fashion designer that became synonymous with the super skinny trend - Demi still looks absolutely tiny. Seriously, her face could probably fit in our palm". The appearance came after Demi also made a return to Twitter - the micro blogging site that she used regularly before her marriage breakdown. The 49-year-old still uses her old Mrs Kutcher handle, though she asked followers this week, "Time for a change, twitter name change ... any suggestions?". British journalist turned television presenter Piers Morgan was amongst the first to replying, suggesting, "Mrs Morgan", which Demi laughed off, insisting the name was already taken. After checking out of the Cirque Lodge rehab clinic in Sundance, Utah, Moore reportedly jetted off to the Caribbean with her close friends for a few weeks, before flying back to California.
The Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi has married his girlfriend Amanda De Cadenet in a secret ceremony on Harbour Island in the Bahamas.
The New York rocker and British TV presenter-turned-photographer made the announcement in today's (18JUL06) Hello! magazine in Britain, but have not disclosed the date of their wedding.
It's the first marriage for 25-year-old Valensi, while De Cadenet, 34, has a 14-year-old daughter ATLANTA with ex-husband, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor.
De Cadenet - who is pregnant with twins - had a wedding dress designed by designer Marc Jacobs, but her baby bump had grown so big she ended up getting married barefoot in a beach dress.
De Cadenet says the couple decided to wed in a hurry during a brief break between The Strokes' world tour, so weren't able to invite their respective families.
She says, We've been together for five years and wanting to get married for two. It wasn't as if we felt we had to do this because of the twins. They and the wedding are two entirely separate large events, neither of which was made easier by Nick being away on a world tour. He's probably only spent ten days in New York this last year, so quite how we managed to get pregnant I don't know!
"I called my mum, brother and father when I got to Nassau airport and they weren't hugely surprised.
"I'm really pleased it was just me and Nick at our wedding, because I cried the whole time."
