Is Amanda Bynes really a celebrity in crisis? Maybe she just needs a little help.
The celebrity bloggers loved Lindsay Lohan. It guaranteed 500 words a day. She's run over a photographer, she got hammered in this club, she might have borrowed some cash from Charlie Sheen. The interest died a little when she got help and landed a couple of jobs. Now, it seems, Amanda Bynes is the air to the throne.
There's been tons of media swirling around Bynes - the kids TV star turned unstable addict (allegedly) - though do we know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? It's worth remembering that she earnt a hell of a lot of money at a very young age. Maybe she just needs a little help.
Bynes was hospitalized for mental health issues and now her mother, Lynn, is speaking out against the wave of speculation, rumor and conjecture.
"I would really like everyone out there to know that almost 99 per cent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading," she told People.
"Unless it's a statement issued by our family attorney, Tamar Arminak, please take everything you read about Amanda with a grain of salt. Please know that neither myself or other family members have ever released any information regarding her treatment or diagnosis. We truly believe in keeping our daughter's situation private for now."
The statement comes after an official statement was issued on Tuesday through her lawyer, claiming that Bynes had moved to a more 'mainstream' celebrity facility - reportedly the Malibu based The Canyon.
"Amanda is making great strides towards recovery," the statement read. "The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda's health and well-being."
Lynn Bynes has been taking care of her daughter after a series of incidents three months ago where Amanda threw a bong from her New York apartment window and lit a fire on her neighbor's driveway.
"We appreciate everyone's heartfelt support and we hope that she can get some privacy and the respect she deserves during this trying time," Lynn added. "Both my husband and I love Amanda very much and we know that she will get through this situation."
