Rumours about Bynes' marital status were prompted when photographs emerged of her in New York sporting what looked like a diamond ring, as CBS reports. Bynes confirmed the rumours and shared the news with In Touch Weekly on Sunday (5th October).

Bynes discussed her recent engaged which appears to be motivated by a desire to both have companionship and avoid men who wish to sleep with her. She explained: "I am very needy for friendship and I hate men. I want to f*** them, but I can now say I'm engaged - get away from me. I want to be married and I want to be away from people."

Despite her desire to be "away from people", she's certainly looking forward to the future with her fiancé and is already planning on having children. She's definitely looking for more men in her life too as she stated she wants to have sons. The former Nickelodeon star said "I want boys, for sure. However many I can pop out. I don't want a gorgeous girl around. Then I [would] feel way jealous. Ew."

The news of her engagement comes only a few weeks after Bynes seemingly returned to her previously unconventional (to put it politely) behaviour. Bynes has recently had yet another run in with the law. She was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday 28th September for a DUI. She is due to appear in court later this month on the misdemeanour charge.

As for her supposed fiancé Caleb, we know very little about him other than his age, that he's from Costa Mesa, California and that he works in a bait shop.

Smells pretty fishy to us...
