On Friday new pictures emerged of the actress looking healthy and happy during a college fashion show event, looking like she's responding to her new life as a student well and might be starting to put her troubles behind her.

Amanda Bynes looked well as she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise Debut Runway Show in Los Angeles on Friday March 21st. Bynes attended the event with her parents and was happy to pose for photographs, even uploading a couple on to Instagram. She appeared at the event wearing beige trousers, a black top and carried a small chained shoulder bag.

She's currently in her parent's care and seems to be doing well after her months in rehab and psychiatric care. Her parents have been instrumental in her recovery, especially her mother who was recognised by the judge in a hearing in February of this year.

Amanda Bynes is well on her road to recovery and has now reached a deal in a DUI case stemming from 2012.

Richard Hutton, who is the 27 year-olds attorney, appeared in a Southern California court on her behalf and accepted a no-contest plea to a "wet reckless", which is a lesser offence than a DUI conviction.

Judge Edward Moreton handed Bynes the penalty of three years probation, and she must also complete a 3-month long alcohol education program.

The Amanda Bynes saga was funny at first. When she started dressing like Nicki Minaj, pierced her cheeks and began tweeting strange messages to rapper, Drake, it all just seemed like harmless Miley Cyrus attention seeking. The Amanda Bynes train wreck screeched to a halt in July this year, when the former Nickelodeon star was sent to a psychiatric ward at UCLA for evaluation. A few months down the line and Amanda was allowed to leave the psych ward and was admitted to a Malibu-based rehab centre for further observation. Now, she's ready to go home.

Speaking to People, Amanda's mother's lawyer Tamar Arminak revealed that Amanda has been deemed fit enough to go home for the holidays. A statement from Arminak read, "Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery. Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she's feeling better every day."

Amanda Bynes is out of the rehab clinic and on the up, according says a statement from lawyer Tamar Arminak, via People. The 27 year-old actress was hospitalised in July after her increasingly immoral behaviour culminated in her setting fire to a California driveway as well as her own dog in July.

Amanda Bynes' troubles have not yet ceased as she is declared not medically fit to stand trial by her attorney for the 2012 DUI arrest when she hit a police car with her BMW.

According to RadarOnline her legal team filed a report at the LAX airport courthouse Tuesday morning (24th Sept) stating their client isn't competent to stand trial in her DUI case.

Amanda Bynes’s psychiatric hold has been extended to one whole year, according to TMZ. After the former childstar spent the better part of the last six months providing fodder for gossip columns with her questionable behavior, she was finally detained on a 5150 hold at the end of July. She has remained at a mental health facility since then, with her parents filing for a conservatorship.

Now, according to TMZ, Bynes’ doctors have asked the court to extend her stay to a year and their request has been granted. Control over the hold has reportedly been transferred to Bynes’ mother, who is currently the temporary conservator. It is unlikely that the troubled actress will remain at the facility for the entire year, however. TMZ reports that current plans are for Amanda to stay for 60 days, long enough for doctors to stabilize her, and then to be moved to her mother’s home, where she can spend the rest of her detainment.

Amanda Bynes has been winding down a long spiral of self-destruction over the past few months - one that has won the troubled former child star plenty of tabloid inches - with her behaviour getting increasingly unstable as the weeks went on. Hopefully, the Amanda Show star will be able to find some stability in her life from here on in, as her mother, Lynn Bynes, was granted legal authority over her daughter, as People have reported that the star will be placed in a temporary conservatorship following a psychiatric evaluation.

At a courtroom in Ventura, California, on Friday (9 August), Judge Glen M. Reiser ruled that Amanda was in no fit state to take care of herself and approved her mother's appeal to retain legal control of her daughter. It was also revealed at the court hearing that the former child star will now be placed in a 30-day psychiatric hold for further evaluation after spending 17 days in hospital following a bizarre incident when she was found in the driveway of a house in a retirement community stood around a fire she had started.

What started as a few eyebrow-raising tweets branding 'haters' as "ugly" left, right and centre, DUI arrests and a bong flung from an apartment window has turned into a full investigation into Amanda Bynes' mental health. The She's The Man actress, who has been in the fame spotlight since she was a child actor has demonstrated some rather unorthodox behaviour of late, garnering reams of negative press.

Dog walkers at a New York City park have banded together and signed a petition to get the star banned because of her misconduct around other people and their animals as well as the mistreatment of her own pet. According to OK Magazine, reported by the Belfast Telegraph, Pet owners who frequent a dog park off 23rd Street and Madison Square Park in NYC have decided enough is enough, with one source even going so far as to describe Bynes as "awful," saying "So far the petition at our dog park has over 200 signatures to get her banned because of how awful she is."

Poor, poor Amanda Bynes… not only has the promising young actress gotten in heaps of trouble this year, with a psychiatric hold and possible mental illness currently hanging over her head, but now her parents have unintentionally revealed some startling details from their daughter’s personal affairs.

By now it’s widely known that the Bynes’ have filed for a conservatorship, in order to gain legal access into Amanda’s affairs and to be able to curb their daughter’s downward spiral somewhat. TMZ has revealed some of the contents of the legal documents that Bynes’ parents filed – and they sound disturbing to say the least. The statements claim that the retired actress has become "extremely paranoid about being watched," and she covers smoke alarms with towels and tapes windows shut to prevent cameras from shooting her.
