MUD singer LEE GRAY has died from a heart attack following a long battle
with throat cancer.
The 57-year-old Brit passed away on Saturday (21FEB04), a week before he
planned to fly to Glasgow, Scotland to join fellow glam rock icons BAY CITY
ROLLER LES McKEOWN and Alvin Stardust at a charity concert.
The star's funeral will take place in Portugal, where he's been living for
the last 12 years.
Widow CAROL GRAY says, "He couldn't sing, but he was to introduce the
bands. But over the weekend he was very unwell and we took him to hospital
where he had two heart attacks.
"Music was a lark to him, he loved performing. A lot of people liked Les
because he was so down to earth. Alvin Stardust has just called me."
