Soul sensation Alicia Keys is being sued by her former literary agents after allegedly going behind their backs to land a $1 million (GBP555,000) multiple-book deal.

Bosses at LUKEMAN LITERARY claim they helped the singer obtain a deal with publishers only for her to negotiate a similar deal with PUTTNAM BOOKS.

Lukeman chiefs claim the deal Keys and her aides eventually worked out cheated them out of their 15 per cent commission.

A spokeswoman for Keys insists the singer never signed a contract with Lukeman Literary and they were never her legal representatives.
