Big name stars Alice Cooper, Johnny Rotten and Robert Smith are lining up to pay tribute to Scot rocker ALEX HARVEY on a new album.

The Cure frontman Smith joins Cooper, Sex Pistols leader Rotten and comedian Billy Connolly to cover Alex's classic songs while backed by his band, the SENSATIONAL ALEX HARVEY BAND.

Others set to take part include such varied artists as Lulu, Def Leppard singer JOE ELLIOTT, Iggy Pop and Donny Osmond.

Donny is set to re-record CRAZY HORSES,The Osmonds' 1982 hit which Alex turned into a heavy metal stomper.

Alex died of a heart attack in 1982, a day before his 47th birthday.
