Rocker Alice Cooper has welcomed his nomination for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, insisting the class of 2011 is "elite".
Cooper is up for the honour 15 years after he first became eligible, and he hopes the wait was worth it.
He joins Tom Waits, Laura Nyro, Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi and the Beastie Boys among the acts being considered for induction into the fabled Cleveland, Ohio museum.
He says, "I'm in an elite class and being nominated with Laura Nyro, my favorite female writer, and Neil Diamond and Tom Waits and Donovan. Those guys have been around as long as I have."
