Alex Trebek might be in his later years but the 73 year-old has shown he is still down with the kids.

On Monday's episode of 'Jeopardy' the longtime host spat some rap beats while reading questions in the category 'It's A Rap'.

For the first time in his 30 years hosting career, Trebek held it down hip-hop style as he repeated lyrics from Dr. Dre (Nuthin' But A G Thang) , Notorious B.I.G (Juicy)., Public Enemy (Time Bomb), and the Beastie Boys (No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn).

The newly discovered MC even made the leading contestant, Mary Manhardt, laugh while she answered the final question in the category.

"Yes, and I don't know why that's making you laugh so much," Trebek jokingly answered.

His performance also made the news on 'Today' as co-host and weatherman Al Roker acknowledged Trebek's rap.

"Alex Trebek, usually playing it safe on Jeopardy, but recently he got jiggy with it," Roker said.

Trebek's antics were all over the web but fans feared the worse when his name began trending on twitter.

One concerned fan tweeted, "You have no idea how relieved I am that Alex Trebek isn't trending because he's dead."

Another added, "Was really thankful Alex Trebek isn't trending because he's dead....until I found out why he is....dying to see this... #Hillarious"

An article on the site The Wire has posted dozens of other tweets who also thought Trebek had died.
