The cage fighter - who recently renewed his wedding vows with the former glamour model - is currently focusing his attention on a forthcoming bout with Tom 'Kong' Watson next month and has warned his spouse he needs to reserve all his energy and aggression for his opponent.
He explained on UK TV show 'This Morning': "Some people like to have sex right before. I personally like to wait four weeks just to keep up the aggression."
Alex and Katie - who has three children, Harvey, eight, Junior, five, and three-year-old Princess Tiaamii, from previous relationships - have made no secret of their desire to start a family and will lift their ban almost as soon as he finishes the fight.
A pal told the Daily Star newspaper: "Alex is a fighter first and foremost and he knows that a month without sex won't kill either of them.
"He's very aware that his reputation is riding on this fight as he has had to postpone it before because of injury.
"He feels like the whole world is watching and if that means putting the baby plans on ice, then so be it.
"Knowing both of them, I'm sure as soon as he gets out of that ring they'll be at it like rabbits."
Katie recently admitted she and Alex are desperate to have a child of their own.
She said last month: "We're trying for a baby at the moment but we'll definitely adopt if we can't have children together. Even if we can have kids naturally, adopting is still something that I would like to do."
Gritty and involving, this small British thriller is like Memento crossed with The Bourne Identity...
