Alex Pettyfer, the star of Steven Soderbergh's new 'stripping' movie 'Magic Mike', says he would like to appear in the Broadway version of the movie. The 22-year-old British actor and model stars alongside Channing Tatum and Matthew Mcconaughey in the film about a young man who becomes a stripper in order to raise money to achieve his dreams.
Plans are reportedly in place for a Broadway spin-off, and Alex told Usa Today he would "absolutely" be interested in starring in the stage show. The actor suggested, "I think we should all do the opening night". The movie's producer Reid Carolin added, "We are working on it as a Broadway show, which would be a different story, more of a romp, more of a fun night out at a club with a story. I'm almost more excited about that than the movie because I think it's the perfect thing for women to go see on Broadway, to be participants in the show". Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, Alex was keen to explain some of his raunchy dance moves from the film, saying, "My favourite move I got to do is a move called The Swipe. It's basically a back flip and you land your hand as you twist in the air and you spin around".
'Magic Mike' is expected to top the box-office this weekend, though will face stiff competition from Seth Macfarlane's 'Ted' and Pixar movie 'Brave'.
