British rocker Alex James has confessed he openly wept onstage during Blur's triumphant comeback gig at the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival.

The Parklife hitmakers reunited in 2008 after a six-year hiatus and they sealed their return with a prestigious headline set at the annual summer music event in 2009.

During the concert, singer Damon Albarn led the crowd in a singalong to the band's 1999 hit Tender, and bassist James has now revealed the moment touched him so deeply he was weeping as they performed the song.

He tells The New Review magazine, "When I think of the single Tender, what it reminds me of now is playing Glastonbury in 2009. Something happened when we played there: it was a moment that made me realise Blur hadn't gone away, even after almost 10 years of not doing it.

"I remember thinking, this thing still lives and breathes. There were 150,000 people singing along and crying their eyes out - and I was one of them."
