After the success of the debut single 'Lipstick' Alesha switches to a reggae style with the help of co-writer and producer Brian Higgins [Girls Aloud/Saint Etienne/Texas] "It's a pick me up record" says Alesha about Knockdown. "It's about when things are just getting too much and you just need some space to sort yourself out."
'Knockdown' is reworked for the clubs by K-Gee. The new version which has been re-vocaled by Alesha also features a rap by Asher-D, former So Solid Crew member and now critically acclaimed actor.
Knockdown is taken from Alesha's forthcoming album Fired Up which will be released in the New year. Working with a stellar list of producers including Jonny Douglas [George Michael] Richard X [M.I.A] Paul Epworth [Bloc Party] and Brian Higgins [Girls Aloud], Alesha has created one of the most exciting British pop albums in recent years. The Observer Music Monthly have already declared Fired Up "comes on like a charged up assault on the beige British pop landscape, bristling with feel good charisma."
