Actor Alec Baldwin can't wait to become a father again at 55 because it means he gets a second chance at becoming a doting dad.
The 30 Rock star insists the fall-out from his divorce with his grown-up daughter Ireland's mother, Kim Basinger, prevented him from being the dad he had dreamed of becoming - but he's determined to get it right when his first child with new wife Hilaria is born later this year (13).
He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "The only thing that I regret was that I missed so much of my daughter's childhood because of this contentious situation. And that wasn't at all what I wanted. So I find that now I have another chance."
And once his baby is born, Baldwin insists he'll slip away from the limelight to become a quiet family man.
He adds, "I have my daughter coming and my wife, and I just want to get as far away from that (fame) as possible. You're probably going to be one of the last interviews I ever do."
