Review of Disco Circus (Volume2) Album by Mighty Mouse

Producer duo Mighty Mouse are back with 'Disco Circus (Volume2)' having received huge acclaim by established DJ's, such as Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank, for their first volume. You can certainly see why this double album highlights the current phenomena of nu-disco and uplifting progressive tunes at its best. In fact to get a good idea of music played at many festivals this summer 'Disco Circus Volume 2' would be a good source.

Mighty Mouse Disco Circus (Volume2) Album

It's extremely cool to see likes of DJ Mujava 'Township Funk' (Crazy P Mix), Simian Mobile Disco feat. Beth Ditto 'Cruel Intentions' (Maurice Fulton Remix) , 'Twilight' from Maze and Breakestra feat 2na and Mixmaster 'Posed To Be' all getting a spot on the album which add some funk and live hip hop to the mix. There are also more obvious song choices such as Mighty Mouse's remix of Gorillaz latest single 'Superfast Jellyfish' and more of their recent remixes including 'The Bridge' by New Wine.

It's hard not to like this album. It's all very positive, uplifting and creates an atmosphere to get you in the mood for partying. It's all quite safe, non confrontational and in the background but there's enough P-Funk, hip hop and electro grit to give it space aged credibility. Whatever you think, Disco Circus (Volume2) is mixed well, flows in a way that is easy to listen to and the choice of tracks gives it a cool heads up! This duo definitely fit into 'Mighty' rather than 'Mickey' Mouse category and it would seem some mice can fly. Not bad!
