With previous records released on the likes of IDM giant Planet Mu and the British indie mammoth that is XL Recordings, the Maltese-born and now London-based Capitol K (aka Kristian Craig Robinson) has an unquestionably solid indie/electronic grounding.

Though surely not to his own detriment, Kristian's 5th record is released on his very own Faith And Industry label. Awash with swirling dreamy synth textures, jazz-funk rhythms, moments of psychedelica, occasional guitar & live drums and plenty of playful experimentation, Notes From Life On The Wire With A Wrecking Ball is an extremely imaginative and eclectic electronica album.

Sounding like it came straight from the Notwist school of electronic indie-pop, the single 'Libertania' is a fantastically resounding highlight. But the wonderful pop moments don't stop there. The awesome 'Go Go Go' features a wistful synth arrangement and vocals tainted with generous amounts of delay, and the impressive "Drum St' relies on playful vocal delivery, guitar and acidic squelches.

It might be a little disappointing to find that The 2nd half of the album doesn't quite live up to the first, but the sense of overall freshness and strength of the earlier numbers means that Notes From Life On The Wire With A Wrecking Ball still remains a good album well worth your time.
