To the outside world, Jude and Mina on a very happy course. They live in an apartment in New York City and when Mina falls pregnant, it's just another happy occurrence. However, everything isn't what it seems and this is even more evident when the baby arrives. Mina instantly becomes incredibly agoraphobic and leaves the outside world behind. Cutting herself and the baby off from medicines and any form of external contaminates leaves Mina becoming more and more paranoid and their son actually suffering from her efforts.
Jude must find a way to stop Mina spiralling out of control and bring her back to reality before it's too late for all of them.
Hungry Hearts is a psychological drama directed by Saverio Costanzo which sees Adam Driver taking on one of his hardest roles to date.
With his advancing age, fashion patriarch Edoardo Recchi (Ferzetti) gathers his family to announce that he's passing on the company to his grandson Edo (Parenti), bypassing his son Tandredi (Delbono). Tancredi's Russian-born wife Emma (Swinton) has dedicated her whole life to her family, but now that Edo is in charge and their other children (Rohrwacher and Zaccaro) are moving on with their lives, she starts looking around and notices Edo's chef friend Antonio (Gabbriellini), who is planning to open a restaurant with Edo. The spark between Emma and Antonio is unexpected and powerful.

Young Accio (Vittorio Emanuele Propizio) yearns for the priesthood, but not as much as his young body yearns for the bodies of Italian movie actresses, whom he discovers through small photos. When he can't get a straight cure from the clerics, Accio goes secular and takes up a kindred cause: fascism. His older brother Manrico (Riccardo Scamarcio) is celebrated by their parents for causing a riot at work under the banner of communism and unionization, but a teenaged Accio, played by the talented Elio Germano, takes chastisement at every turn for his loyalty to the ways of Mussolini.
