Morissette and husband Mario Treadway are already parents to five-year-old Ever Imre.
Alanis Morissette has shared the first picture of her adorable newborn daughter Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway. Morissette and husband Mario Treadway welcomed little Onyx on June 23rd, but the singer has only just confirmed her daughter’s arrival.
Morissette posted a photo of Onyx with the caption, “She’s here! Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway June 23 2016 #beyondblessed.” Morissette and Treadway were married in 2010 and are already parents to five-year-old son Ever Imre.
Days after the baby’s arrival Morissette had posted a nude photo of herself on Instagram posing underwater with the caption, "you have to be extra gentle around ladies because they are the most helpful people in the world 'cause they make persons,” which was a quote from Ever.
Morissette had announced her pregnancy in February by posting an animated music video on her website that ended with Ever looking at ultrasound photos. Alongside the video Morissette wrote: “Our story in moving pictures, bringing us up to this sweet moment. may this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by.”
The singer had recently discussed marriage and motherhood in her advice column for The Guardian. "Both marriage and becoming a parent have their way of growing us up,” she wrote in May.
“It is just about whether we kick and scream through the process (or, ultimately, run from it), or submit to it willingly and with a relatively open mind. The choice is yours, and yours alone. Without a deep personal commitment to growing and healing (alone and together with your partner), it is simply not possible to achieve a functional relationship."
