Filming on Al Pacino's cult classic Scarface had to be moved from Miami, Florida, to Los Angeles when locals protested the project's portrayal of Cubans.

Miami authorities even intervened at one point in a bid to force producers of the 1983 film to turn the movie star's homegrown drug lord character into a spy sent to corrupt America from Cuba.

The ultra-violent film is being re-released in cinemas later this year (03) - to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
