Hollywood veteran Al Pacino will release his Oscar Wilde inspired movie SALOMAYBE? at the Venice Film Festival in September (07). The $8 million (GBP4.1 million) film, which retraces the infamous writer's life, was shot in London, Paris and Dublin, and executive producer Tony Schiena was amused at the public's reaction to it. Schiena says, "Al interacted with a lot of people in the street. Some knew who Oscar Wilde was, some didn't. "One guy thought Oscar Wilde was a guy he met at the pub round the corner a few days before." Pacino has previously performed the part of KING HEROD in Wilde's tragedy SALOME on Broadway.
