Aerosmith's tour has been marred by injury yet again - frontman Steven Tyler has been hospitalised after reportedly falling from the stage at a South Dakota show.
The rockers were performing a sold-out concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on Wednesday (05Jul09) when the sound equipment failed during their Love In An Elevator track.
Tyler tried to entertain the waiting crowd by dancing near the edge of the stage, but tumbled off, reports local newspaper the Rapid City Journal.
According to a reveller, the band's security rushed to help the star to his feet and he was taken backstage to be checked for injuries.
Guitarist Joe Perry was later forced to tell disappointed fans that the show had been scrapped as Tyler had been taken to a nearby medical centre.
A spokesman for the Rapid City Regional Hospital confirmed the rocker had been admitted to the facility in the early hours of Thursday morning (06Jul09) .
The incident is the latest in a string of health-based setbacks which have plagued the group's U.S. tour - Tyler cancelled a series of gigs after he suffered a leg injury, while bandmate Brad Whitford was forced to step down from touring duties after undergoing surgery for a burst blood vessel.
