A representative for Aerosmith has cleared up rumours the rockers will be performing at a charity concert in China without frontman Steven Tyler, insisting the show was booked as a solo gig for guitarist Joe Perry.
Reports surfaced earlier this week (beg11Jan10) suggesting the Walk This Way hitmakers had been added to the line-up at The Show Of Peace Concert in Beijing in April (10), alongside the Black Eyed Peas and guitarist Jimmy Page.
The news left fans speculating the group would make its first on-stage appearance without Tyler, who allegedly quit last year (09).
But a spokesperson for the band has clarified the reports, revealing Perry will be appearing on his own at the show, putting the mix-up down to "erroneous" online reporting.
A statement posted on the band's official website reads, "Reports that Aerosmith are performing at The Show Of Peace Concert in Beijing are erroneous, but Joe Perry will be there taking part in the event."
