The Heavy Trailer

Boots Mason is an enforcer, a problem solver for those who can afford his services, his brother is a hopeful candidate for Prime Minster. When Boots is given the option of terminating his employment in return for one final mission, Mason feels this is the way out of a life he's getting a little too comfortable with. As the plot develops, brotherly rivalry and revenge become the main focus of the film.

Highlander: The Source Review

Terrible
Has there been a more convoluted back-story than the one that has not only hobbled but effectively killed the once popular Highlander film series? If there has, I haven't seen it.

When the first Highlander film appeared in the mid-80s it was greeted with enthusiastic though tempered praise. Critics saw it as exciting if pulpy but audiences embraced it as a grungy, violent science fiction romp. As with most good things (that make money), a sequel was conjured up.

The Breed (2001) Review

OK
In the near future, vampires exist peacefully alongside man until a renegade group seemingly tries to rebuild a kind of Nazi regime, with bloodsuckers herding humans into concentration camps. This strange WWII allegory is unfortunately neither very successful as a political drama nor as a monster movie; the flashbacks are too obvious, and the buddy cop plot is overwhelmingly impossible to follow. Our cop heroes (Adrian Paul and Bokeen Woodbine: one's human, one's a vampire) jump from suspect to suspect without so much as a word of explanation why. The moody atmosphere (pitch black, everywhere) and illegible computer readouts with dossiers on each character don't help.

Alien Tracker Review

Bad
There are made-for-TV movies, and then there are adapted-for-cinema TV shows. And while it would be cruel to force any person into such a situation, if I were to drop you on a dessert island with a choice of only one of these two entertainment options, I would strongly encourage you to choose the former over the latter.

Unbeknownst to this critic, there existed in 2003 a Sci-Fi Channel TV series called Tracker, starring Adrian Paul (Highlander: the Series) as the titular tracker of aliens, Cole. Apparently the series didn't last more than a season, but it produced enough material that someone got the bright idea of editing a bunch of episodes together into a feature-length film. And it shows.

Highlander: Endgame Review

Bad
He is Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod. He's been pimpin' it since he was born in the village of Glennfillan in 15somethingsomething, and he continues to pimp it in modern day. He is immortal and he cannot die.

Much to our chagrin.

Susan's Plan Review

Weak
Yea, and the masses cried for a time when John Landis would once again make a passable movie instead of doing direct-to-cable crap like this. Amen.

Nemesis Game Review

Good
In the grand history of live-action-role-playing-games-gone-wrong-in-the-movies (Gotcha!, T.A.G., Subterano) comes Nemesis Game, in which players attempt to answer Hobbit-esque riddles in search of, well, in search of something that I never really figured out.

Who's behind the game, how exactly it is played, why people are playing, and even who's footing the bill for the thing are questions that will have to go ananswered. Even the most casual viewer will be inevitably frustrated and completely baffled by the inexplicable story in Nemesis Game, but I have to admit that despite a massive failing in the plot department I actually had fun watching this film.
