Adele's fans have been left disappointed after the singer's record label boss dismissed rumours suggesting she is plotting a comeback this year (14).

The Rolling in the Deep star has been largely absent from the music industry in recent years after becoming a first-time mother, but devotees had hoped the Grammy Award winner would be back in 2014.

Fans were sent into a frenzy this week (beg14Jul14) when a message posted on the World Music Awards' official account appeared to confirm a new album and a 2015 tour.

The note read, "#adele confirms 2015 Tour After The Release Of Her New Album '25'!"

However, Martin Mills, Chairman of the Beggars Group which runs Adele's XL Recordings label, has dismissed the story, telling, "(There is) no truth in this."

Adele previously fuelled rumours of a comeback herself in May (14) when she tweeted, "Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year" on the day before her 26th birthday.

The British star released her debut album 19 in 2008, and her follow-up 21 in 2011.
