Things could hardly be going better for Adele at the moment, with a fresh new set of awards to put on the mantlepiece and a new baby boy in tow she could hardly ask for more. However, not everyone in Adele's family (does she have a surname) are feeling the love right now, particularly her estranged father.

Mark Evans spoke to the Daily Mail this weekend to share his anguish of being cut off from Adele, his grandson and all her millions, telling the paper, "I’ve left messages on her phone, I’ve written to her and I’ve sent her birthday and Christmas cards but it’s like I’m dead to her," adding, "I’m not interested in her celebrity status or her money, I just want my daughter back and I want to be a proper grandad to the little one."

Back in 2011, Evans sold his story of how he walked out on his then 2-year-old daughter, after which he was completely ignored by the singer, as is still the case now. Despite almost two decades of abandonment and then cashing in on his story, Evans can't seem to comprehend why his estranged daughter wants nothing to do with him, but laments he only wants to make things right and be with his family again.

Recently, after months of waiting, the name of Adele's son was finally revealed to be Angelo James, and like the rest of us Mark is equally clueless as to why she chose to call him that. He said, "I’m not sure why she’s chosen James, other than a reference to James Bond, and God alone knows where Angelo has come from. It’s very LA, isn’t it?" Mark had hoped the child would be named after her grandfather and his dad, John, but it looks as though that might have to wait until baby number two at least.
