British singer Adele is set to turn style icon - she's landed a spread in fashion bible Vogue. The Chasing Pavements hitmaker was headhunted by the magazine's American editor Anna Wintour for the shoot with revered photographer Annie Leibovitz - and the experience opened Adele's eyes to the working of the modelling world.
She says, "I went to go do my final fitting for the shoot. Then Anna Wintour wanted to meet me, so I was waiting in the hallway.
"It was just like The Devil Wears Prada. It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice. She was like, 'What labels do you like?' I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in Vogue or something before."
And Wintour took such a shine to the singer, she offered to dress her for this weekend's (08Feb09) Grammy Awards, where she is nominated for four awards.
Adele adds, "Anna Wintour is sorting out my outfit for me. I got a really nice dress. I don't ever wear dresses. I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan. But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It's going to be quite a big deal."
