Soul star Adele feared she'd never sing again after she contracted a throat illness which forced her to scrap her North American tour earlier this year (11).
The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker was midway through her U.S. trek in May (11) when she was diagnosed with laryngitis. She postponed the remainder of her shows on doctors' orders and returned home to Britain to recuperate.
She made a triumphant return to the stage on Thursday (07Jul11) for London's iTunes Festival - but Adele admits she feared the worst during her health scare.
Speaking backstage after the show, she tells British TV presenters Dave Berry and Alexa Chung, "It's like 99.9 per cent better so I'm really, really chuffed (happy).
"I was just saying I thought I wouldn't be able to ever sing again about a month ago, so I'm really relieved. And it went great and my voice ain't (sic) hurting, so I'm really pleased."
