Adele has become the first artist to score 12 weeks at number one on the U.S. album chart since Santana's Supernatural ruled the countdown in 1999 and 2000.
The Brit's 21 has returned to the top of the chart 24 weeks after it debuted there.
The album is the year's biggest seller in the U.S., amassing 2.9 million in total.
Last week's number one, Eric Church's Chief, slips a spot to two while fellow country star Trace Adkins lands the week's highest debut at three with Proud to Be Here.
Mat Kearney's new release Young Love and the soundtrack to TV series Victorious both debut in the top five, in fourth and fifth place respectively.
