The Frozen star received the Visionary Award, in recognition of her support of humanitarian organisations, at the Laughter Is The Best Medicine event for Jhpiego, a charity working to improve health care globally and help prevent needless deaths of women and children.

Bell took to Twitter.com to thank charity bosses for her prize, writing, "Dear @Jhpiego - thank you for the Visionary Award honor this evening. It means I'm basically a doctor now, right? #DrBell... @Jhpiego is an amazing org (organisation) that makes a difference to families around the world. Theyre vetted & accompished (sic). Consider working w/or 4them...."

Gellar also used the microblogging site to document the evening, adding, "Incredible evening honoring @IMKristenBell and the work of @Jhpiego 'Where a woman lives, should not determine IF she lives'... @IMKristenBell Congtats (sic) on the @Jhpiego visionary award. I've witnessed first hand, the inspiring woman you are."

Actresses Julie Bowen and Shanola Hampton also attended the star-studded event.
