Adam Sandler swept the board at the 2012 Golden Raspberry awards, taking home 10 'Razzies', annually awarded to the worst movies of the year. Sandler's comedy 'Jack and Jill' set a new record by winning in every category in which it was nominated, either for its substandard performances, direction or writing, reports the UK's Telegraph newspaper.
Sandler, 45, who plays numerous parts in the movie, won for Worst Actor and Worst Actress, as well as for Worst Screen Couple (with Katie Holmes). The movie then scooped the award for Worst Screenplay, while Al Pacino won Worst Supporting Actor and David Spade won Worst Supporting Actress for his cross-dressing turn as 'Monica'. The "winners" of the awards are chosen by 657 voters across 46 U.S. states and 17 foreign countries and are traditionally announced on the Saturday before the Oscars, though the organizers moved this year's ceremony to April Fools' Day. As expected, Sandler failed to turn up to accept his slew of prizes and most actors and actresses nominated choose not to attend. However, in 2005, Halle Berry turned up to pick-up the award for Worst Actress, while Sandra Bullock gamely appeared last year and even handed out DVD copies of her movie 'All About Steve'.
Last year, the fantasy movie 'The Last Airbender' won for Worst Movie, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and Worst Supporting Actor, though Jack and Jill appears to have set the bar even higher - or lower.
