Hollywood funnyman Adam Sandler is being moulded as the next Jim Carrey, by BRUCE ALMIGHTY screenwriters eyeing up actor for their next project.

COLUMBIA PICTURES, who made the Carrey movie, have invested $1.75 million (GBP1.09 million) on a script called CLICK by writers Steve Koren and MARK O'KEEFE.

Neal Moritz, head of production company ORIGINAL FILMS, exclaims, "Great ideas rarely come around, but this is one of them. I called the studio and we went for it."

Click is about a workaholic advertising executive - to be played by Sandler - who comes across a universal remote that allows him to pause life events or fast-forward over them.
