A video of American comedian Adam Sandler performing his famous 'Thanksgiving Song' has received over one-million hits on YouTube after users made the comedy ballad their 'Turkey Day' soundtrack. The 44-year-old first performed the track when he was a regular on Saturday Night Live.
Views on the video reached 1.2 million yesterday (25th November 2010), as fans relived the memorable ditty that pokes fun at the Thanksgiving season and namedrops celebrities such as Betty Grable, Mike Tyson, and Sammy Davis Jr. Sandler was renowned for performing a number of comedy songs on the hit US show, including the 'Chanukah Song', the 'Christmas Song', and 'A Song for Elmo'. Notable lyrics in the 'Turkey Song', include, "Turkey for the girls and turkey for the boys, my favourite kind of pants are corduroys", and "Turkey for me, turkey for you. Let's eat turkey in a big brown shoe". The track ends with the line, "Gobble gobble gee and, gobble gobble gickel, I wish turkey only cost a nickel oh I love turkey on Thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving everybody!"
Sandler is currently working on the romantic comedy movie 'Jack and Jill', which also stars Katie Holmes and Al Pacino. The film is set to hit cinemas on December 2nd 2011.
