Adam Sandler, you might want to stop reading now.
Adam Sandler has been called an ‘asshole’ by Sony boss Amy Pascal in another series of leaked emails which discuss the actor’s plan to adapt the board game 'Candyland' into a movie. In the emails, unearthed by The Daily Beast the studio boss also voices her anger over Sandler’s behaviour on the set of Hotel Transylvania 2.
Adam Sandler was branded an 'asshole' in leaked Sony emails
In an email dated September 23rd to Pascal an other executives, Hannah Minghella, co-president of production for Columbia Pictures details her frustrations over Sandler asking for the green-lit on the $200million 'Candyland' project.
“Adam is an asshile [sic] and this is more his fault than anyone’s but what we did was not communicate with each other and make assumptions maybe I didn’t pay attention when you were telling me what I was walking into but it also comes from a non alien meant between us all and too many people doing everything and no one taking responsibility and I mean myself as it is my responsibility to let you guys know what I want to breath [sic] life into,” replied Pascal.

In another email to Pascal dated October 14th from Michelle Raimo Kouyate, president of production for Sony Pictures Animation, Sandler is said to have wanted his producing partner Allen Covert to receive an extra $100,000 for his work on Hotel Translyvania 2.
“Ok but we are going to hold firm about not paying extra $$ to Covert for producing fee—we are at the $500k EP max,” wrote Kouyate. “100 percent… They are such assholes,” replied Pascal.

In October Sandler (unsurprisingly) left Sony, announcing a new deal with Netflix to produce four original movies. In a statement at the time of the announcement the actor said, “When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said yes for one reason and one reason only….Netflix rhymes with Wet Chicks.” Adding, “Let the streaming begin!!!!”
However Sandler isn't yet totally free of Sony. Next year the studio will release Hotel Transylvania 2 as well as the Chris Columbus directed Pixels.
