Adam Levine has promised Christina Grimmie a record deal.

The 38-year-old was overwhelmed after it was announced he had won and gushed to presenter Carson Daly "I can't even talk. I'm overwhelmed, I'm surprised, I'm happy, I'm relieved,” adding "This has been so much more of an experience than I ever could have imagined. I'm just really grateful.”

Kaufman has been an audience favourite throughout the competition and has been saved by the public’s vote on numerous occasions. There was some concern he would not be crowned the winner after his Adele cover of ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ was not available to purchase on iTunes. Daly explained during the season finale that there had been a technical problem. The iTunes sales do count towards the final result but this seemingly did not prevent the public from voting in huge numbers in other ways and ensuring Kaufman won!

However, it’s not all bad news for the other finalists in particular Christina Grimmie who was promised support by judge Adam Levine. Levine had coached her throughout and series and started off the show by announcing he would be happy to sign her to his record deal, regardless of the competition’s outcome. The Maroon 5 frontman said "I would like Christina Grimmie to know that regardless of the outcome, whether you win The Voice or not, you will have a record deal because I would like to sign her to my label." At the end of the show, Grimmie was emotional as she thanked Levine saying "I respect you so, so much, and I thank you for everything that you taught me and thank you so much for saying what you said earlier about wanting to sign me!"

Levine must be mildly irritated as Kaufman was his initially his mentee. Levine was forced to eliminate Kaufman during an earlier ‘battle’ round but fellow judge Usher saved the day and decided to take on Kaufman. Kaufman thanked both coaches for helping him throughout the show and thanked them profusely. He said, "This whole experience has been so much more than I ever could have expected. I'm so glad that I got to work with Usher and Adam. Your input has been invaluable and I'm a better artist for it, absolutely. Thank you so much."
