Adam Brody is the latest star to sign up for 'Scream 4'.

The former 'O.C.' actor will play a recently graduated police officer in the horror movie franchise, appearing alongside Courteney Cox-Arquette, David Arquette and Neve Campbell.

Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen have also signed up for the film with Shelton playing a deputy who knew Campbell's character Sidney at school, while Knudsen's alter-ego will provide some comic relief.

The movie reunites director Wes Craven and scriptwriter Kevin Williamson and shooting begins in Michigan, US, this week.

The film's secrets are closely guarded secret, with even members of the cast unaware of who the killer is.

It was recently revealed Emma Roberts had joined the line-up, and would replace Ashley Greene as the main role of Jill.

She said: "I'm so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise. It's the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I've ever done before."

Although 'Scream 3' was supposed to be the end of the series, the fourth movie is expected to open up the possibility for a second trilogy with 'Scream 5' and 'Scream 6' being considered.
