Ace Frehley Kiss

The guitarist, 64, was taken to hospital following his show in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Friday (15Apr16), and subsequently had to pull out of his second weekend concert on Saturday (16Apr16).

He was treated for both exhaustion and dehydration, and on Sunday night (17Apr16), he was released from the medical centre and headed back home to California to recuperate.

However, sources told TMZ.com that despite Ace having a clean bill of health, his doctors ordered him to arrange a less taxing tour schedule and stay off the road for a while.

Ace Frehley Wanted Gene Simmons On New Solo Album

Ace Frehley Gene Simmons Kiss

Frehley, who has had bad blood with Kiss bandmates Simmons and Paul Stanley, pushed aside his differences with Stanley to work on a collaboration for his upcoming covers album Origins, Vol. 1.

The musician tried to get Simmons on the record as well, but his attempts to get in touch with the rocker failed so he took it as a sign Simmons did not want to be involved.

"Well, I tried calling Gene a couple of times and I got his answering machine," he said on The Boris & Robyn Show on New York state's WPDH radio station. "So I shot him a few different texts. I even went as far as to get ahold of Doc MCGhee (KISS's manager) and tell Doc to let Gene know I wanted to get ahold of him. And I guess either he didn't get the message or he was just too busy."

Ace Frehley Feared Kiss Make-up Would Cause Blindness

Kiss Ace Frehley

Former Kiss star Ace Frehley once suffered a severe allergic reaction to the group's iconic stage make-up and feared he had been left permanently blind.

The guitarist, who quit the rock group for good in 2002, reveals he forgot to take the face paint off after a show in Paris, France and woke up the next morning with an extremely swollen face.

Frehley was unable to see and feared the reaction had robbed him of his sight for good, telling Loudwire.com, "I was in Paris, and I bumped into a model, a fashion model that I knew from New York. She was doing a photo shoot there. We ended up getting drunk on about four bottles of Champagne, and I ended up passing out in the bed with my makeup on after the show. When I woke up, I had an allergic reaction from not taking the silver off, because it's ground up metal. My eyes were swollen shut. I was blind...

Kiss Ace Frehley Gene Simmons Robin Williams

Former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley has chastised his ex-bandmate Gene Simmons for making controversial comments about depression just days after the death of funnyman Robin Williams.

The veteran rock star was the focus of a major backlash last week (ends17Aug14) when he suggested depression sufferers should kill themselves in an interview just days after the actor's suicide following a long battle with the disease.

Simmons was discussing his relationship with Frehley, who suffered from substance abuse and depression in the past, and the former Kiss guitarist has now hit back at his former bandmate for making insensitive remarks.

Ace Frehley Found The Perfect Recording Spot In Remote California Farm Community

Kiss Ace Frehley

Former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley scored a great deal while planning to record his new album Space Invader - a fan offered him the use of his studio in remote California a cut-price rate.

The rocker was hoping to complete his latest release on a budget and feared studio costs would spiral out of control and lead to him having to rush the project, but a mega-fan came to his rescue.

Frehley tells Wenn, "My studio in Westchester burned down and I was looking for somewhere special, and I have a very dear friend, Matt Swanson, who lives in Turlock, California and he's a real big businessman in Turlock and he owns stores and acres and acres of crops and he's a huge fan and we met about five years ago. Leading up to the recording process he told me, 'I've got my own recording studio up in Turlock, you've got to come and check it out...' so I took him up on it and I loved the studio. He gave me an incredible deal.

Gene Simmons: Credible Bands Can Kiss My Ass

Gene Simmons Kiss Paul Stanley Ace Frehley

Gene Simmons claims credible bands can Kiss his ''ass''.

Ace Frehley Brands Kiss 'Half A Cover Band'

Kiss Ace Frehley

Original Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley has dismissed the band's current line-up as "half a cover band" following a bust-up over who should perform at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Remaining founder members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley turned down the offer to perform at the ceremony in April (14) when they learned that only the original members of the band had been invited to perform, as current members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer are not being inducted.

Stanley also implied he was not confident enough in Frehley and original drummer Peter Criss' ability to perform, telling Billboard, "Honestly, I don't want to roll the dice and possibly negatively impact on what I personally have been involved in building for 40 years. I have too much invested at this point."
