Abba have seen off competition from Adele and Oasis to land Britain's best-selling Cd of the last 20 years.

The Scandinavian pop sensations have sold four million copies of greatest hits album Gold in the U.K. since 1992, according to the U.K.'s Official Charts Company.

The total puts the 1992 record ahead of Adele's 21, which falls into second place with Cd sales of 3.5 million even though it was only released last year (11).

British rockers Oasis come in third after selling 3.4 million copies of their second album, 1995's (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, ahead of Amy Winehouse's Back To Black at four and James Blunt's Back To Bedlam at five.

Other albums in the top 10 include No Angel by Dido and Spirit by Leona Lewis.
