Aaron Sorkin won the best adapted screenplay award for Sony's The Social Network at the WGA Awards ceremony Saturday night. Sorkin's screenplay was based on the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. Christopher Nolan won the WGA original screenplay award for Warner Bros.' Inception. In accepting his award, Nolan called for an end to the WGA Awards rule that bars films that are not produced under WGA jurisdiction or formally submitted for consideration. Nolan said that the award would have been more meaningful to him if his film had been in competition against The King's Speech, although he did not mention the title of that film "for fear of boosting their chances at any other awards." Both films are in competition in this year's Oscar race.
