Bollywood star Aamir Khan has cut short a work trip in the U.S. after learning of his father TAHIR HUSSAIN's sudden death in India.
The director/producer passed away on Tuesday (02Feb10) after suffering a heart attack at his home in Mumbai, according to reports.
Khan, who was in Los Angeles to promote his upcoming film Peepli Live, made immediate arrangements to return to India for Hussain's funeral.
Hussain began his career as an assistant film director, before producing several Bollywood projects.
He made his directorial debut in 1990 with Tum Mere Ho, in which his son Aamir starred.
Hussain is survived by his four children, actor sons Aamir and Faisal, as well as Farhat and Nikhat.
