Former 98 Degrees star Justin Jeffre has pleaded not guilty to trespassing following an arrest for participating in an Occupy Wall Street-inspired protest in Ohio.
Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Penn Badgley and Alec Baldwin are among the celebrities who have taken part in the New York rally, calling for an end to corporate greed and social inequality, in recent weeks.
Jeffre showed his support for the initiative by joining activists in Cincinnati on Sunday (23Oct11), but his participation landed him in police custody early for occupying the city's Fountain Square after 3am.
He tells The Cincinnati Enquirer, "I spent the night in jail, and it was not fun. But it was the place to be if you are standing up for free speech."
He was later charged with trespassing and unlawful use of the public area.
A lawyer entered Jeffre's not guilty plea on Monday (24Oct11).
