2 Chainz has been arrested along with 11 other passengers on a tour bus after failing to comply with police after they were pulled over with a broken tail light in Oklahoma City, News 9 reports.
2 Chainz: One Of Eleven Tour Bus Arrests.
On Wednesday night (21st Aug), 2 Chainz had performed at Chesapeake Energy Arena with fellow rappers Lil Wayne and T.I. It is not known yet whether the others were with 2 Chainz, AKA Tauheed Epps, when the bus was pulled over just after midnight on Thursday. The officer reportedly suspected that there were illegal drugs on the bus but the driver is said to have locked all the doors and refused police entry with all passengers also refusing to leave the vehicle.
The Passengers Refused To Leave The Bus Until Police Obtained A Search Warrant.
Instead, cops towed the tour bus with the passengers still on board to a nearby police training facility where a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle. Even with a warrant, the doors still had to be taken off the bus before police could gain access. All of the 11 passengers were arrested and booked into Oklahoma County Jail for a state misdemeanour charge of obstruction.
Although the vehicle was searched, police officers have not shared their findings with the press yet.
This Isn't 2 Chainz's First Brush With The Law.
In June, the performer was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco outside a medical marijuana dispensary. He emerged from the incident without getting hurt, minus his wallet and phone, but his posse scrambled at the sign of the armed robber. The 35 year-old has been in trouble with the law for drugs possession, including having even attempted to smuggle marijuana and promethazine on a plane.
MTV has recently announced that the 'Feds Watching' rapper is set for a special performance at Sunday's (25th Aug) VMAs awards ceremony alongside Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Drake, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga. It is not yet known whether Epps' arrest will affect his upcoming appearance.
